Frequently asked questions.

Not at all. You don’t need a diagnosis or crisis to benefit from therapy. Many people come in feeling “off,” overwhelmed, or just unsure about what they need. That’s okay. Therapy can help you make sense of what you’re feeling and move toward clarity.
-
Every session is personalized, but here’s what you can generally expect:
We’ll start with a quick check-in to see how you’re feeling and talk about what’s been going on since your last visit (or what brings you in if it’s your first session). From there, we’ll focus on your goals for the session. That may be processing something stressful, learning tools to manage anxiety, or just taking some time to reset.
Sessions are a mix of conversation, reflection, and practical strategies you can use in your everyday life. It’s a collaborative space where you can be honest, ask questions, and explore what’s working and what’s not. Most people say it feels relaxed and supportive and sometimes are even energized by the end.
You don’t need to prepare anything ahead of time, just come as you are.

That’s completely okay. Many of my clients are new to therapy. I’ll guide you through the process, explain what to expect, and create a space for you to ask questions. You don’t need to have anything figured out in advance.
-
Most clients start with weekly or bi-weekly sessions. We’ll discuss what feels right for you based on your needs, schedule, and budget. There’s no one-size-fits-all.
-
Yes. I offer both in-person sessions in Langley, BC and secure virtual session for clients anywhere in Canada.
-
Sessions are $150 CAD and are 50 minutes long. I offer a limited number of sliding scale spots. If cost is a barrier, feel free to ask about availability.
-
Please provide at least 48 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Late cancellations or missed session may be subject to the full session fee.
-
Absolutely. I offer a free 30-minute consultation so we can get to know each other and see if it feels like a good fit.
-
I’m not currently set up for direct billing through insurance, but many clients are able to submit receipts for reimbursement through their extended health benefits. You can check with your provider to see if they cover services with a registered therapeutic counsellor (RTC) or registered social worker (RSW). I’m happy to provide detailed receipts.

You don’t have to have all the answers. Just a sense that you’d like things to feel a bit different. If that’s where you are, therapy can be a supportive place to start.
